DETAILS: (Oxnard, Calif) – The Oxnard Police Department is investigating the death of a man found unresponsive in an alley in north Oxnard.
On October 15, 2017, at approximately 2:56 a.m., Oxnard police officers responded to a call of gunshots heard in the 1300 block of Azalea Street. When the police officers arrived on scene they searched the area and found an unresponsive 27-year old Hispanic male in the south alley. EMS arrived on scene and declared the male deceased.
The Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit arrived at the scene. Major Crimes detectives, along with a representative from the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, conducted a preliminary examination of the deceased person at the scene but were unable to locate any significant injuries.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon. Further information will be released at the conclusion of the autopsy.
